Hank Williams was truly Americas first superstar. From 1949 to 1953, Hank had 34 consecutive hit singles - 32 hitting the top ten and 11 going to number 1. His songs of drinking, living, and praying were never before heard of themes. His troubled and turbulent life was intimately reflected in his music. Hank was only 29 when he died but his legacy as the king of country music lives on.
