Chihei Hatakeyama is a minimalist ambient-electronic musician and an organizer who was born in 1978. He lives on the outskirts of Tokyo. He has performed for years under his given name and also as one half of the electroacoustic duo Opitope.
Cal Lyall is a Tokyo-based guitarist and sound artist exploring diverse musical forms in numerous projects (Tetragrammaton, Jahiliyyah, Palimpsest), incorporating influences ranging from free-flowing drone to ecstatic improvisation. With an active performance schedule in Japan and past tours through Thailand, Laos, China and Korea, he also heads up the Subvalent record label, oversees the Tokyo Hub of Jolt Sonic Arts (Australia) and organizes the long-running Test Tone series at Super-Deluxe in Nishi-Azabu, Tokyo.
