Steven Hammer finds important lessons in the distortions of sound, image, and moving image that occur when electronic devices display behavior outside of their normal intended use, experiences that would make most of us call tech support. Hammer manipulates electronic devices to make those distortions occur, a burgeoning practice known as glitch art (or, dirty new media).
