"Exploding Cave" was a 2-days event structured in a series of meetings, workshops and performances that investigate the relationship and the least common denominator that ties cinema, sound, video and digital arts. Organized by Cox18 with the collaboration of Digicult, Exploding Cave suggests the idea of an explosion, of an effort to "go beyond" the normal audiovisual perception towards multiple directions, both in the practices of audiovisual creation and in the performative methods.
In Zaire is post atomic psychedelia! Italian sonic bordello, a psychedelic tribal trio involving the memers of the italian duo G.I.joe and Claudio Rocchetti. Probably the most powerful and immersive post-punk, free jazz,electro-core act in Italy at the moment. GI JOE and Claudio Rocchetti (3/4 had been eliminated, Olivetty) give us warm echoes, nervous drumming, powerful bass and cruel electronics. For the event Exploding Cave in Cox Milan, Digicult had the idea to add a visual part to the show: something dirty improvised, mechanical, powerful, talented as the InZaire sound. We decided to call for Virgilio Villoresi and his magical analogue set made of Vhs, Mixers, Videos. The final result is one of the most incredible live audiovisual set you have ever seen: Virgilio is able to follow with his projections the sound atmoshperes created by In Zaire, all improvised, a growing and synesthetic flux of sounds and images, a breath in the mostly homogenueus panorama of interantional audiovisual live sets.
