00:00:00 Welcoming Remarks
00:00:40 User wanted to know how to create the center part of a Hexagon exploding box that would fold up into petals. Bryan reviews three different ways to approach creating the file. He says the last way shown is probably the easiest. Also see this thread on forum: forum.make-the-cut.com/discussion/32838/exploding-box-template-hexagon and then: craftingdi.blogspot.com/2010/11/cardscupcake-wrappers-and-exploding.html and forum.make-the-cut.com/discussion/32867/exploding-hexagon-box#latest
00:26:45 Bryan reviews how to find and use MTC’s “Stack” function
00:28:45 Bryan demos how to place a digital stamp on the inside of a card and then a “cutout” on the front of the card so that the digital stamped image shows through the cutout on the front of the card.
00:40:50 Bryan misread the question, user wanted to know how to put a Sentiment on the inside of a card, another image on the front of the card so that it would print and fold correctly. Bryan shows how he would do it.
00:56:10 Bryan reviews how to simulate turning the “page” by using the “warp” feature in MTC
01:00:07 User wanted to know how to create a lotus flower votive tea light candle holder. Note that there would be two parts to this design. First the overall lotus flower petals basic shape is needed. Then the “lacy design” added to the petals would be the second part. Bryan only shows the overall basic shape design needed. He then assigned “homework” for users to create with their own fancy lacy designs cut on the petals. See the following links for the “image” desired: thedieline.com/blog/2009/2/11/lotus-tealight-candleholder.html and dieline.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8345250f069e20111685c3892970c-550wi; also see these threads from forum for the “homework” done by some Bryan and then some users: Bryan’s thread is here: forum.make-the-cut.com/discussion/32922/teacher-s-homework-from-the-2013-06-04-webinar-sans-lace#latest. During Bryan’s demonstration of creating the Lotus Petal votive holder he covered some of the other questions from the forum thread and some other “tips”. You can find this information at the following time stamps as he created the lotus petals.
01:10:27 Bryan explains the “tricks” to rotation
01:17:56 Bryan answered the question on how to take a flat edge and turn it into a leaf or petal
01:26:50 How to move items back onto 1 layer when they are on separate layers
01:57:12 Follow-up questions and discussions based on the lotus flower demo
02:32:12 Bryan notes that the final question on the Webinar Question thread was from a user trying to do a “print and cut” (PnC) with MTC to a cameo. He notes that this is not something he can easily show in a Webinar and that he does not have a cameo. Julie had sent user a message and had not heard back. He and Julie will work with user offline to try to help figure out her issue. If it is something that can be shown in a webinar, they will try to do so next week.
