Bracken, the new label from designer Joseph Nigoghossian, features a heavy focus on universal and unisex garments, and seeks to override the constructs of gender-loaded aesthetics. Bracken seeks to design for real people in a modern and shrinking world, where the traditions of seasonal, occasional and gender based dressing are fading. Bracken aims to appeal to those with a taste for fine fabrics and an exceptional level of craftsmanship, whilst maintaining functionality, comfort and wearability.
A broad range of influences from high and low culture make Bracken an eclectic yet directional brand. Following on from Joseph’s project based signature label, Bracken aims to combine fashion, art and digital media to further the evolution of modern dressing.
Brackens first offering for pre spring 2014 features a series of strong print stories in silks and cottons, a collaboration jacket with Hackney biker brand Black Skulls London, a range of leather accessories including new hat shapes, an evolved series Josephs signature bra bags and further exploration with animation prints.
