Life Preservers and B-Discovery Present A Night of Art, Music and Fashion to Celebrate SMF Survivors
Life Preservers Annual "Fundraiser to Fight Human Trafficking" has become one of the largest and most anticipated NYC legal industry events. Please join us Wednesday June 12th at Toshi’s Living Room and Penthouse (1411 Broadway, NYC) 7-11pm. We are thrilled to announce we are being sponsored this year by ECALSM (E-Discovery, Compliance, and Litigation Support Management Association) and PALS (Paralegals and Litigation Support Managers Luncheon Group) Our 4th Annual event features an amazing entertainment line-up produced by Ford Model Monica Watkins, founder of Art in Motion which includes live music by 2012 Battle of the Bands winners Brown Rice Family, STADJ Model/DJ’s and Lohrasp Kansara. Life Preservers Inc. is a 501c3 arts collective founded by Shana Pederson in 2009 with the sole purpose of raising funds and awareness through the arts for the victims of human trafficking both locally in NYC and globally.
Life Preservers Inc has pledged to use the 2013 annual event including art, music and fashion to raise money and awareness for the Somaly Mam Foundation.
The Somaly Mam Foundation is a US-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting victim services and survivor empowerment, and building strategic partnerships and policy changes toward the eradication of human trafficking.
Somaly Mam is a Cambodian survivor and leader in the fight to end slavery. Over the past decade, Somaly has been recognized as a CNN Hero, Glamour Woman of the Year, Conde Nast Traveler Visionary, recipient of the World Children’s Prize, and by the US Dept. of Homeland Security for her work.
