Just a little test. Done in one day (rendered on the next=). So there is no many passes (additional debris, dust etc).
Hand animated cube, prefractured, activation is animated too for greater control. Tiles are dynamicaly linked to animated ground.
3ds max, tp, fumefx.
tp failed to calculate velocity so i had problems with fumefx and rendering mblur(
