PAK‘nSAVE brought new meaning to meat market singles bars with its campaign. In a bid to pump up sales of its cheap meat, the New Zealand supermarket took to radio and TV in a lonely hearts (of beef) campaign featuring forlorn cuts of meat looking for someone to take them home. A toll-free number hooked up suitors with actors playing chicken thighs, burgers, and, of course, hams. More than 10,000 people called in. Meat sales increased 14%. Love sizzled on the barbie.
