Ok Sin is a student at the Myanmar Institute of Theology (MIT) in Yangon, Myanmar (Burma). From an early age, Ok Sin has experienced much suffering and has seen many struggles in the life of her people - the Wa ethnic group. Ok Sin, left her village in the mountains of Myanmar at an early age in search for an education and a better future in the capital city of Yangon. In this short video, Ok Sin shares a portion of her story.
This Summer, Central Baptist Theological Seminary Students, Amy Baer and Francisco Litardo traveled to Myanmar to participate in the "Doing Theology under the Bo Tree" seminar at MIT. Ok Sin shared her story as part of of a lecture titled: The Bible Through the Eyes of the Myanmar Poor.
Ok sin now knows that in the midst of trouble and despair, God has walked with her and prepared her for a new journey of preparation for ministry to her people.
