What do you love about Annapolis? The beauty of the area, the wildlife, the Bay, that small town feel, the undeveloped green areas?
Things have been changing over the years, there is one place from when Forest Drive was truly a forest. A 100 acre ecosystem of lush forest, wetlands and meadows. It provides habitat for the wildlife you see on the Bay. It allows animals to roam, keeping them off the roads. It is also important for our health and the health of our city. It provides the natural buffer during heavy rains and storm surges to prevent flooding. It provides tree canopy and cools the city during the summer. It cycles back our exhaled carbon dioxide into breathable oxygen.
We need the forest for our own survival, but as Annapolis continues to be developed, it's forests and open spaces have been disappearing. Now this green forested area may disappear. You can help save this last bit of undeveloped green space in Annapolis.
