The National Student Advertising Competition is held annually, and is sponsored by a client who provides a case study outlining the history of its product and current advertising situation. For this campaign, our client was Nissan. We were to create a fully integrated marketing communications campaign for Nissan targeted toward multicultural millennials, while focusing on one of their core values, innovation. Our solution was the “Translation” Campaign. Nissan tells you what innovation is and how it works, but they don’t tell you why it matters.

These spots are simple but use a classic problem/solution advertising approach. Each spot focuses on an innovation and ends with a translation that dramatizes a benefit. The spots are fun, honest and will appeal to MCMs. This ad will advertise our 1000 Miles promotion.

This campaign placed first in districts and third in the national competition.
