This video was part of the game opening experience as the LA Kings took to the ice for the 2013 NHL Playoffs at Staples Center. The video was designed to take advantage of the multiple boards and rings on the center-hung video board, as well as the the ribbon board around the arena. Be sure to take note of how we alternated images between each of the individual boards and then occasionally combined them all into one mega display. It made for an energetic, and dynamic, game open experience - especially when combined with the light and laser show.
The image in the top part of the screen is a shot of the interior of Staples Center during the open. The bottom image is a composite of the edited video that played on center hung boards (the top & bottom ring boards sandwiching the main and corner boards).
The folks over at Staples center were a huge help formatting everything to play properly across the multiple boards. This was the second year in a row that Chuck, EJ, and I teamed up with Danny to create some game opening madness. It was a blast! The only downer was the boys didn't get to hoist the Cup again this year.
Enjoy the show and GO KINGS GO!
