This movie review appeared first on the "Top Hat And Buttered Popcorn" program that aired bi-monthly on the Fairfax County (VA) cable television station, Channel 10. It was hosted by John Savers. This movie was directed by Stephen Gaghan, and it starred George Clooney as a CIA operative in the Middle East arena who blows a mission and gets to be the patsy. Matt Damon played an economist who gets connected with a Muslim prince. Its a tough relationship because the US intelligence would like him to be dead. Two American oil companies connive for contracts against a Chinese competitor. Christopher Plummer and Chris Cooper provide strong support. It's was like a long walk in a hot desert - one was never sure that he would make it. Story lines curved, veered and collided. Was this movie satisfying, or was it all a mirage of a bad dream?
