To be floating up in a hot air balloon over Brisbane’s Scenic Rim hinterland, is always inspiring but this particular morning, the balloon ride inspired some poetry.
On Sunday morn, ere Dawn had 'claimed the day,
To Canungra's misty marches did we hie,
Then, in a basket wove from willow rods,
We soared into the sky like very gods!
The great balloon exhaled its fiery breath
And put to flight the startled kangaroos.
Nor will that voyage be forgotten soon;
Up, up and away, The Great Balloon!
