Here is a collection of some of my favorite shots I filmed for Anderson & Roe. Working with this talented duo was a dream unto itself. I have scarcely met any people more charming, intelligent, dedicated, and open-minded as these. To see them chat with me about their expectations for the shot, and then to watch the two of them launch instantaneously into the most complicated segments of the 35-minute piece again and again taught me volumes about the class of character that constructive, artistically authentic ambition can create.
In addition to the shots you'll see above, I also filmed a daring night beach performance where they played a sinking antique organ washing away into the sea in the nude. In order to get the shot I had to swim out into the ocean holding my Canon 7D over my head so that it would not be submerged. Anderson lost a toenail in the chaos, and we had to chase off one beach transient who snuck into our filming location and watched for sometime before anybody noticed he was there (it was pitch black dark and difficult to see each other, much less the creepy, toothless old man standing nearby). The team requested that I delete the footage after I handed it over to them, due to its obviously intimate nature, so alas I am unable to provide it for you now. You will have a chance to see glimpses of it, cut together with a more controlled swimming pool shoot at which I was not present, when that video gets released later this year.
