Abdulaziz Abdulla wins sixth round of QNRRCH
Abdulaziz Abdulla has won the sixth round of the Qatar National Road Racing in a very tricky conditions as the strong wind and the dusty track made the driving very challenging to all the participants. Abdulaziz got the polepostion yesterday with his Porsche Carrera and he lead all the race from the start. He gave no chance to Pavel Nedobity who finished in second place with a difference of 23.913. ' It was a very good race, I didn't had too much pressure as I think the guys had some problems with the wind and the slippery track, and they were little behind me. I hope next race to be in the podium again and win the championship' Abdulaziz said at the end of the race.
The Czech Republic driver Pavel, started from the third place in the grid but in the first lap he overtook Talal Wehbe and kept the second position until the end. 'It was a good race not too bad as yesterday as we got time yesterday to get used to the weather conditions. From the start I know that I wouldn't be in the first place as Abdulaziz was very quick, I had to control the gap with Talal in the third place and try to keep the gap of 7 seconds with him. I am very happy with my second place as it was a tough championship for me with some technical issues so I am very happy to be back in the podium again' the Lotus driver stated after the podium ceremony.
The third place in the podium was for Talal Wehbe, also with a Lotus car who tried his best in this dusty conditions and he admitted that this third place is good for him as he is still second in the championship with only one more round to go.
In the Production class the winner was Peter de Vido with a Honda car. 'It was a fantastic race. with this conditions, it made racing even more challenging having to think about driving, the car and also managing your tyres and the slippery conditions. I had a fantastic race with Nasser Sheigal, it was an intense fight, it didn't end in any lap. He drove very well, very cleanly and we were very fiercely competitors drivers so that is why I am here in this championship' De Vido said after the race.
The trophies were presented by Mr. Sultan Al Morraikhi, QMMF Board Member.
The Championship title is still to be decided in the last round. Abdulaziz Abdulla is leading with 46 points and Talal Wehbe is in second place with 39 points in the Open class. In the Production, the leader is Nasser Sheighail Al Abdulla with 28 points and Saif Al Naimi is second with 23 points. The last round of the championship will be on 21st and 22nd June.
