For the TATA Pavilion we've created an ambient video mapped atmosphere, projected on a white artificial tree,
The tree of life.
The concept of a Tree of Life is sacred to most cultures, has a long history and is one of the most potent symbols.
In India this many-branched tree illustrates the idea that all life on earth is related. It has been used in Science, Religion, Philosophy and Mythology over thousands of years.
The indian philosopher of Living Cultural Traditions Jasleen Dhamija writes: It connects us to the three worlds, of the tree that both soars upward and plunges deep down while standing erect on the ground. Or with other words: its roots delve into the underworld its trunk links the earth to the heavens - it transcends all three spheres. It symbolizes birth, maturity, death and rebirth embodied in leaf, bud and fruit.
