The last outpost of a dying era. Corrugated iron flaps like a discarded newspaper in the hilltop gusts. Sheep's wool snagged on the cogs of the rusted lifted gear seems to sigh in defeat. The emptiness of a derelict industry is just a surface level sign of the undercurrent of deprivation and poverty of hope.
Filmed at an abandoned drift mine in the South Wales Valleys, using a Canon 5D mk III in Magic Lantern raw mode. Colour correction and grading done in Adobe Camera Raw, then exported to JPEG sequences for editing in Premiere Pro.
Filmed by Andy Toovey and Joe O'Hare.
