eBay has done good pulling scams the past two days, but it’s the weekend and the scammers are out phishing for suckers!
We start out with this 2007 Mercedes-Benz S-Class that is listed by ahrumshin for only $18,650 (171058487652). Next is this 2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty FX4 listed by russelljohn9 for only $10,720 (121126961423). Next is this 2004 Ford Excursion 4×4 LTD that is listed by leiaferay31 for only $12,600 (151063787652).
It is my opinion that eBay should enable ID Verify for any new seller that is listing a motor vehicle. Cars Boats Aircraft Etc are what’s called Titled Property. The only person that can legally sell a vehicle is it’s registered owner. Excluding licensed dealers. ID Verify would stop these scammers listing cars they do not own!
And eBay should also fix the problem of their listing software accepting 17 1′s or 0′s etc, on Standard VIN Automobiles. Standard VIN meaning any vehicle from 1981 to current which has 17 characters should have a valid vin entered as a listing requirement. This has been addressed since 2005 and has not been corrected. Just another measure to help weed out fraudulent listings.
Beware of a low price – it’s the #1 indication of a scam. Beware of NEW 0 feedback sellers. Never contact a seller via direct email address in a listing – this is Phishing and scammers are trying to steal your identity and your money!
