I had the privilege of joining ManFish Michael and his trusted sidekick, The Calico Kid, on their latest freediving outing. This time they were on Captain Darrel Hauk's beautiful vessel The Aqua Scout. There is only one problem with this boat, as seen in the very last scene. We went out of Dana Point to go paddy hopping. Lots of paddies were found. But, very little was found below. They were light on 'bait fish' and on game fish. After a half of a day of bouncing in the blue, we headed to the east end of Catalina. I made a recon dive to the deep sand. I was surprised to find eel grass in the 40' to 65' range. I gotta come hear and spend some time in the grass.
