In the predawn light, Diane is quietly trying to pack her entire life into a bag She's going to live in London, she's leaving the town that she thinks she's outgrown. As the light starts to rise on her little town, nostalgia awakens in her. What is she without her friends, her lovers and the place that she is from? After an argument with her boyfriend and some poignant advice from a real estate sign Diane runs. After aimlessly walking in the bush she happens upon an idyllic beach with two fishermen placidly casting out their lines. She bolts towards the two stoic men. But are they the sages she thinks they are or are they just a couple of old salty grumps who will make her realise why she wanted to leave in the first place?
