Our company is completing a major remodel of our leased space, and I decided to try to shoot and create a time-lapse sequence. This video compresses three full days of work into 15 minutes. In addition to the "cubes" being delivered and built, many private offices received new furniture as well. The images were shot with a webcam suspended near the ceiling wired to an older laptop computer, and set to capture an image every five minutes OR a burst of images 3/4 of a second apart when motion is detected. This resulted in more than 24000 640x480 images culled by hand down to the 22000 images used to assemble this video. A first cut used images only about every five minutes and resulted in a choppy sequence wherein items and people would appear and disappear in one frame. I prefer this expanded, but longer, sequence that preserves the motion of people and objects as they cross the room.
