The Sahel Calling Project was launched in August 2012 with the mission to raise awareness about the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Mali. We wanted to praise and raise the voice of local musicians who were singing about the crisis. We began collecting euros, ideas and many volunteers to make a film...
Our goal has always been to have a global, free release of a short documentary on World Refugee Day, 20 June 2013. Here it is.
Sahel Calling, the short documentary, is what we consider a work-in-progress...Our project stays current with the developments in Mali, so the feature-length documentary will improve upon this one.
We will continue to work with musicians to tell the story of one of the most extraordinary countries in the world.
