Day 1 and 2 of the Blue Eye FX Underwater production course. If someone had told me I would be filming a manta ray about 15m from shore on a house reef within 24 hours of landing in Egypt I would have thought they were barking mad! But that's the way it was! First time for me using a pro spec camera and housing and my inexperience shows!
However, two beautiful dives on a pristine reef, let down only by a worrying amount of plastic debris which is becoming a depressingly familiar picture along so many of our coasts; more than once I thought plastic bags were jellyfish (of which there were plenty) - if its possible for us to get confused between jellyfish and plastic bags underwater, its no wonder so many species of marine life are increasingly ingesting this non-biodegradable junk we dump into our oceans seemingly without any concern.
