The Self-Portrait Experience is a method of therapeutic photography, created by Spanish artist Cristina Nuñez, who holds her workshops in several contexts in Europe and overseas. Since 2009 Nuñez is holding self-portrait workshops in prisons in Spain and Italy. Recently Nuñez has started to train other people to become therapeutic self-portrait facilitators following her method. One of them is Chiara Digrandi, psychologist, who has used the method in Peru with teenagers in reformatories and women in prison.
In this video Nuñez explains her method and some of her experiences in prison, showing very powerful images and the interns' feedback. Chiara Digrandi explains her own workshops in Peru, and the amazing results she obtained.
