We are aiming to build an army of coders, freedom lovers, visionaries who will join forces with us to program an open source, independent Internet Search Engine, one which will belong to all people of the world, just like the Internet does.
The Internet is a product of its users and thus belongs to all of us. To guarantee independent and truly relevant Internet search results, we need a commonly owned open source search engine. Our vision is for a search engine that operates with transparent algorithms, for which the public co-decides which content is deemed most valuable and relevant, and where the privacy of the individual is paramount.
The best sites should be on top and not the sites with the biggest wallet. Do we want a corporation to dictate what is valuable to us and what is not? What we should know or not? Corporations are making billions with our data and governments are planning total control of the free citizen.
This is a revolution in which we will challenge present day search engine giants. In memory of the 300 Spartans, who – led by Leonidas – were able to hold the vast Persian army, we called our project LeonidasNet (network). We are a non-profit organisation committed to fighting for independent Internet search. We believe our army will have 300 million Spartans or as we like to call them Spoders (Spartan / Coder = Spoder). Join us as we program the best independent search engine in the world. How can you support us?
By joining our army of Spoders.
By informing others who might want to join.
By donating whatever you think could help us.
By sending us encouraging words…
"The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new." Socrates
