On my first Father's Day, Jaime gifted me a B-17 WWII bomber flight at Paine Field, near Seattle. Boeing is famous for this rugged heavy bomber that—through strategic bombing—devastated Germany and significantly brought the ETO conflict to an end sooner. While this clip is from the POV of the nose gunner and chin turret, my Uncle Ed survived his WWII missions as a top turret gunner, but was seriously wounded by flak. With his two .50-caliber machine guns, he shot down several German fighters that sneaked up into the engine contrails which spread behind the bomber at high altitude. In memory of my uncle, I brought his sterling silver gunner's wings along for the flight. I'd like to thank him again here, and acknowledge his bravery. May you rest in peace, Uncle Ed. We all miss you down here...below the clouds.
