Step #4 in the Oklahoma Green Schools Program is the Implementation of a Student Action Project. First, the students present their report to a decision maker, civic group or even at a school assembly. You decide who will benefit the most from the report findings and recommendations. This report may open doors to project approval, funding or even to invite an expert to share their knowledge with the students. Next, based on the findings within the PLT school investigation that you chose, design and implement a student action project. Examine the foundations of service learning to get ideas on how to connect classroom instruction with community service. Go to the OGSP website, under Resources, to look at funding sources and watch the OGSP listserv postings for grant opportunities.
