In May 2013 , I joined eleven photographer's on an inspiring trip to Namibia with Jeremy Woodhouse of Pixelchrome. This nine minute video incorporates some of my favorite photos and videos of the trip. It opens with a hot air balloon ride along the gigantic red dunes of Sossusvei, some measuring 1000ft. From ground level i photographed the golden grasses , and the 900 year old tree skeletons in the Dead Vei ( dead marsh or lake.) Next mansions from the haunting ghost town of Kolmanskop, a diamond mining town abandoned 100 years ago and now being swallowed by the desert. Photos of the beautiful nomadic, Himba people who wear few clothes and rub their bodies with red ochre and fat to protect themselves from the sun. The women are noted for their intricate hair style and beaded jewelry.I have included videos and photos of the many animals from Ongava game reserve, and leopards and Cheetahs at the Okonjima home of the Africat Foundation committed to long-term conservation of Namibia's large carnivores.
