Large eddy simulation of a buoyant plume in a linearly stratified environment. The density of the incoming jet is low enough to reach the top of the computational domain. But entrainment of dense fluid from the environment leads to an equilibration at mid depths. The computation was conducted at 512 CPUs of a Cray XE6m at City University of New York.
