On June 22, 2013, Coney Island, Brooklyn, glittered with a myriad of majestic mermaids, merman and mythical sea creatures. This year's radiant festivities were presided by King Neptune Judah Friedlander of 30 Rock and Queen Mermaid Carole Radziwill.
"The Mermaid Parade is the largest art parade in the nation, a celebration of ancient mythology and honky-tonk rituals of the seaside. Unlike most parades, this one has no ethnic, religious, or commercial aims. Invented by artists, it’s a major New York holiday in sync with the summer-solstice celebration."
