This year, a group of specially selected students have been participating in an international filmmaking project, coordinated by La Cinémathèque Française in Paris, working in partnership with the British Film Institute in London. Students from different schools in different countries have followed the same curriculum, which this year focused on ‘mettre en scène’, or ‘to stage’. Through a series of practical exercises, students learned how to position actors in a scene, and where best to place the camera. Throughout the year, we have been documenting these exercises on the project blog... http://sgccinematheque.wordpress.com/
The final practical exercise required the students to make a short film that showcased the skills they had developed. On Friday 28th June, their film was screened at the BFI to an audience of students and special guests, including writer and broadcaster Danny Leigh.
