Sushil Marandi comes from the Santal tribe, of the lowest “untouchables” caste in India.
There are thousands of very poor Santal villages in East India, and Sushil was the first ever to leave his village for an education. His diligent studies led him to earn a college degree and he had the chance to join the growing middle class.
Yet he saw his fellow Santal villagers struggling in poverty and poor health, with little hope for improving their own situation. So Sushil asked GHNI to partner with him to help bring about sustainable development among the Santal people, beginning with his home village of Dhoker Jhara.
I was brought on by Global Hope Network International to help explain the TCD (transformational community development) work they are implementing in rural villages around the world.
