Aerial sequences at the American Cemetery and Memorial, situated above Omaha Beach in Normandy, France, where 9,387 American service personnel are buried and 1,557 missing are remembered, following the Allied invasion of Nazi occupied France during World War II.
The precisely ordered rows of crosses in the immaculate grounds among the shade of the trees lends a calm but moving atmosphere to this famous memorial to the young soldiers that gave their lives in the name of the Free World, 2499 of them on 6th June 1944 with the D-Day landings on the beaches visible in the distance in the penultimate sequence.
