Brother Shashank Shah completed his PhD in the area of Corporate Stakeholders Management in 2010 from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning and was awarded the Association of Indian Management Scholars International Outstanding Doctoral Management Student Award 2010 at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad in 2011. He was also awarded the HR College Golden Alumnus Award by the Honorable Sheriff of Mumbai for his outstanding research achievements in 2011. He has been awarded the Governor’s Gold Medal for standing first at the Master of Philosophy in Business Management Program in 2006 and the President of India Gold Medal for standing first at the MBA Program at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, India in 2004 by the Revered Founder Chancellor, Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
He has published over 65 research-based papers and case studies in reputed national and international journals and conferences in the areas of Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Stakeholders Management, and Values-Based Management and Education. He has also co-authored 4 books and 2 monographs in these areas. As Editor of the University Publications Division, he has compiled and edited over a dozen books on Indian Culture and Spirituality, Values-Based Management and Education. His magnum opus on Corporate Social Responsibility titled ‘Soulful Corporations: A Values-Based Perspective to Corporate Social Responsibility’ is being published by Springer Verlag as part of the Series on ‘India Studies on Business and Economics’. He has traveled extensively around the world, having been invited to present his work on Values based Leadership, Human Values and Corporate Social Responsibility, including at Harvard.
As the Coordinator of the Publications Division of the Sri Sathya Sai University, Prasanthi Nilayam, he has been actively associated with the compilation of 12 books on Bhagavan Baba’s Message to students and other aspects of the Sri Sathya Sai System of Integral Education, notably the ‘My Dear Students’ series of discourses which is a compilation of 108 Divine Discourses given by Bhagavan to His students. He was also blessed by Bhagavan Baba to address many gatherings at Prasanthi Nilayam, Brindavan, Kodaikanal and Chennai in the Divine Presence, and participate in the Institute Convocation Dramas on many occasions. He has been actively associated with the cultural and spiritual programs in the Mandir, College and Hostel at Prasanthi Nilayam for over a decade. He is also instrumental in coordinating the Sathya Sai With Students Blog (sathyasaiwithstudents.blogspot.com) from Prasanthi Nilayam.
Currently, Brother Shashank is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Department of Management Studies, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (Puttaparthi).
