The Gay Heritage Project
November 17 - December 8, 2013
The GHP Collective in association with Buddies In Bad Times Theatre, Toronto.
"Three of our country's most gifted creator/performers set out to answer one question: is there such a thing as gay heritage? In their search, they uncover a rich history not often shared, shine new light on contemporary gay culture, and fantasize about the prospect of legacy. The result is a hilarious and moving homage to the people who came before us and the events that continue to shape our lives." -- buddiesinbadtimes.com
The GHP Collective is Damien Atkins, Paul Dunn, and Andrew Kushnir -- three award-winning theatre artists who are crafting a new theater piece that looks at the concept of heritage from a queer point of view. As queer people, what is our relationship or connection to other queer people? Is there history we ought to know, but don't? Are there things we shouldn't forget? Is there a kind of nationhood among queer people? If yes, what does it look like? If not, can we imagine one together?
The Gay Heritage Project is trying to raise funds for our premiere in the Fall of 2013. PLEASE SHARE THIS VID and spread the word about our INDIEGOGO campaign.
