This is a visualization of the archival images with a disco themed soundtrack referencing the early era of the AIDS pandemic. The Papi Project archives the height of the AIDS pandemic through Rodriguez' queer, people of color (POC) family in Chicago during the 1980/90s. These curated archival images my Papi took include his queer family, children and pets. In this video, the photographs initially began with my Papi's archive, but ultimately move into the dialogue of the mass devastation of queer men during the AIDS epidemic.
