Sitting next to a nuclear superpower and feeling stabbed in the back and betrayed by allies in the past, a nation might try to seek the favor of another superpower to generate a semblance of security within its people. Poland, flanked by Germany from one side and Russia from another, became a battle ground in WWII and a very hot spot in the Cold War that ensued. Shield tells the story of this divisive issue in Poland and how people oscillated for and against the system before it was reigned in under Obama due to funding cuts and changing technology.
