In the SECESSION’s main gallery US artist ROBERT IRWIN presents his “site-conditioned” installation Double Blind, with the themes of perception and experience, with light, aesthetics, and questions of reality and illusion. “The one subject of art is the pure perception of humans to see and see again.” In Homo Oeconomicus the german artist THOMAS LOCHER treats aspects of exchange, structures of credit, belief, and credibility, and the impact of these notions on the constitution of the subject. In The Side Room ROSSELLA BISCOTTI shows results of her Venetian dream project (Laboratorio Onirico) with inmates of the Venetian women’s prison on Giudecca Island. In an hour-long audio editing allows the women participating in the project to speak for themselves. Portraits of the speakers made by one of the dreamers hang on the walls.
