Meet Le Petit Casseur de Pierres aka The Little Stone Breaker, a philosophic tale and psychedelic film!
This stop motion film was made by two French friends living in Berlin. Anne-Laure Arsac and Nawel Benziane are both amateur artists and experienced dreamers... They are happy to share their DIY living room production made with four hands, paper, scissors, glue, invention, patience and fun. It went along with a German text and collages exhibition in Berlin in Sept. 2013.
*spoiler* for those who want to know more about this tale, here are the keys of the film story :
The little stone breaker is having a hard time working under the hit and dreams himself as the powerful sun. Someone hears his pray and turns him into the glowing star. But its supremacy finds a limit when some stormy clouds stop the sunny rays of light. Damn it! It is much better to be a cloud, be able to make it rain or even flood the earth. But there again the control is not total because another force can choose the cloud's directions : the wind. Light and not to be seen, the wind makes the sky dance and tornadoes raise... until the day it bangs against a massive mountain. Oh yes, finally this is the best thing to be: stronger than the wind, the could and the sun, the mountain stay grounded and still whatever happens. But wait, on the top of it, there is a little person encroaching it rocks by rocks : guess who?
