Twice daily cleansing of the teeth with a brush is essential along with daily inter-dental flossing. This removes plaque (which which can ultimately allow teeth to dislodge). Powered brushes are no better than manual ones. Up and down or circular movement is needed. Paste is irrelevant, unless fluoridated. It is essential to clean the surface of adjoining teeth, specially near the gums, where plaque build up is at its maximum. See your dentist annually.
