This film is part of an ongoing, longer term documentary project exploring cultural influences on everyday life in Kyrgyzstan. This segment is taken form an interview with an artist we met in a village near to Lake Issy Kul.
In this segment a Kyrgyz artist talks about how he communicates with ancestors through interpreting patterns in stones and how these are expressed in his paintings.
The film provides an insight into some of the basic ideas that form the basis of Kyrgyz spiritual thinking and the basis for moral behaviour in Kyrgyz society.
