Weiter tells the story of Somsak Kitdee, a young man from Thailand, and his relationship with the city of Magdeburg. Studying in a different culture, on a different continent and in a different language, he explains how his homeland and the former East German city are not so different.
This 3 minute film was produced in 2005 to celebrate the 1200th birthday of the city of Magdeburg. It won several local and regional film awards, including the prestigious "Mitteldeutsche Rundfunkpreis" and was used to represent the city, as well as being screened twice on national television channel MDR. It was used as a promotional film for the city in cinemas, online and on cable television in Germany as well as being screened at international film festivals!
Hopefully you either understand the Thai spoken in the film or German subtitles... if not, then simply enjoy the visuals and the sound, of the music and Kitdee's voice!
