We're creating a short documentary covering the experience of this summer’s participants before, during, and after taking a 1- day trek to 3 sites that are significant components of civil rights history. So you will see the participants’ opinions and experiences at the beginning of the summer program, lessons learned at the conclusion of the program, and insights gained during their trip to historical landmarks in 3 different states.
It is our hope that the experiences gained by this trip will create in them the desire to actively pursue historical data, and to apply that information to the choices they make in their everyday lives. These students will hopefully gain a greater appreciation for their rights and liberties and their ability to change the world; positively affecting those around them.
This DVD will be produced and distributed to local schools, non-profit organizations, and libraries (It will also be available for purchase by the public, but is offered on reward tiers to donors). It will hopefully allow donors to not only see the impact that their contributions have on our students, but also to be a part of spreading this experience to others.
