June 2010. During the first football worldcup in Africa three Germans travelled to Ghana to discover the secret of African football and what significance the game has for the local people.
Ghana is a football nation, just like Germany. It's national team is even named after the symbol on the Ghanaian flag: The Black Stars, first summoned shortly after the nation declared it's independence in 1957, are for many Ghanaians a representation of a strong, free Africa.
Here, football is much more than just a sport. The nation's passion takes shape in the stories people tell on the sidelines, in the streets and at the cocoa plantations. An encounter with the rough Ghanaian day-to-day and it's true heroes.
