The body of one of the 19 firefighters killed in Arizona is being returned to the Chicago area Wednesday night, July 11, 2013. The cremated remains of Anthony Rose was flown into Waukegan Regional Airport on Wednesday evening.An aerial salute showed an airplane tip its wing for the fallen firefighter who was one of the 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, who lost their lives battling a Yarnell Hill fire June 30 in Arizona.
Hundreds of residents and fellow firefighters from throughout the area also paid their respect by lining the streets holding signs that called Rose a hero.
Rose was a former Wadsworth and Beach Park resident who moved to Arizona in his teens.
Funeral services for Rose will be held tonight, July 11, 2013 at the Congdon & Co. Funeral Directors in Zion, Illinois.
