This project was initially attempted *live* as part of Sonic Cineplex, at the 2013 Glasgow Film Festival, with the help of my collaborator, Graeme Ronald.
We were attempting to generate a Sound Film, from archive footage and audio, in real time, in front of a live audience. We designed a system along the lines of a game for two players, which would randomly generate the elements of the film, and played back the results.
The version archived here is a redux attempt, made using Max MSP, which roughly follows the rules we set out for ourselves in the first performance. The resulting film is made up of randomly chosen (by the Max patch) video and audio selections, which are combined and recombined differently every time the patch is opened. This is an excerpt of what could be an indefinitely long audio-visual piece.
