This is a talk given by Erez Lieberman-Aiden at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory's 'Biology of Genomes' Meeting in May 2009. The title of the talk is 'The Three Dimensional Organization of the Human Genome'. The Hi-C method for reconstructing the 3D architecture of genomes is introduced. An initial finding, the two-compartment structure of the genome, is presented.
