Abdulaziz Abdalla and Nasser Al Abdulla winners of the Qatar National Road Racing Championship
The Qatari driver Abdulaziz Abdulla was crowned yesterday as the winner of the Qatar National Road Racing Championship. In the seventh and last round of the Championship organized by Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation that took place yesterday at Losail International Circuit, the Porsche driver won the race and consequently got the title in the Open class with 56 points.
Abdulaziz Abdulla has performanced a great season. The Qatari driver has been six times in the Podium, winning four races and twice in the second step of the podium.
Abdulla, who got the polepositon on Friday, dominated all the race from the begining and crossed the finished line with a gap of 5.542 with the second classified, the Australian driver Talal Wehbe.
Wehbe, with a Lotus Exige, finished second in the Championship with a total of 47 points. The third place in the podium was for Pavel Nedobity from Czec Republic also driving a Lotus Exige and with this result, he ended third in the final standings with 30 points.
Regarding the Production class, the winner of the race in this category was Rhodelin Senga. For the phillipino driver, this was his first time that he steps in the first position in the podium in the Championship. The second place was for Peter De Vido from Canada and Nasser Sheghail Al Abdulla was third in the race.
In the Championship, the Qatari driver Nasser Sheghail Al Abdulla was the winner in the Production class with 34 points. Saif Al Naimi from Qatar and Peter De Vido were second and third respectively in the final Championship.
In the Award Ceremony held after the races, the trophies and prizes for the winners were handed by Mr.Nasser Khalifa Al Attiya, QMMF Presiden and LIC General Manager and by Mr. Sultan Al Morraikhi, QMMF Board Member and Mr. Rashid Al Sulaiti, QMMF Public Relations Manager.
